ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine swim team claimed medalist honors in each event on Saturday to open the 2021-22 season at the St. Kate's Pentathlon. Senior Jordyn Wentzel led the Wildcats to an overall first place finish with a team score of 4,744 points. 

Wentzel finished first in each of the women's events on Saturday taking the top individual score scoring 315 points for the Wildcats. Junior Annie Voss was the individual runner-up scoring 304 points followed by senior Hannah Svendsen in third (298), senior Maggie Menso in fourth (292) and rookie Emma Svendsen rounding out fifth with 288 points. 

Senior Molly McMahon and first-year J Dombroski tied for seventh as sophomores Anneke van Oosterom and Sammi Friedrich finished ninth and tenth, respectively. 

In the 100-yard butterfly, St. Kate's finished first through tenth led by Wentzel with a time of 56.31. In the 100-yard backstroke, the Wildcats finished with the top-four times led again by Wentzel with a finals time of 58.10. 

In the 100-yard individual medley Wentzel, H. Svendsen and Voss claimed the top-three times and also finished in the first three in the 100-yard breaststroke. Wentzel's time of 1:03.25 was a meet-best, including the men's times. 

The 100-yard freestyle was the final event of the day with the Wildcats claiming the top-nine times led by Wentzel at 53.06.
