Hockey to host Finlandia Friday night

ST. PAUL, MINN. – After a week off, the St. Catherine University hockey team is returning to action. The Wildcats will host Finlandia University of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Friday evening in one final home game before the holiday break.

Friday evening's game between the Wildcats and Lions will be the first between the two teams in five years. St. Kate's and Finlandia last met in 2012 in a two-game series in St. Paul, Minnesota. The Wildcats swept that particular series, winning the first game 5-0 and the second 4-3.

Fans of St. Kate's hockey are encouraged to non-perishable food items to Friday evening's game to benefit local food shelves in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area during the holiday season. Donation boxes will be set up throughout the rink as well for fans that arrive after the first period. All fans that bring a non-perishable item before the end of the first period will be entered to win a free St. Kate's Athletics holiday gift bag. The winner of the gift bag will be selected during a drawing in between the second and third period.
