ST. PAUL, Minn. -- A number of St. Catherine University student-athletes were recognized at the university's annual Honors and Awards ceremony on Wednesday, April 30. Each spring, St. Catherine honors the accomplished students through presenting the top academic awards and revealing the recipients of the All-University Student Leadership Awards.
Six student-athletes were nominated for the prestigious Thomas More Award which is presented to students in any program or class who have demonstrated outstanding loyalty and service to the University, integrity and have promoted campus community spirit. These students may have made a major contribution to a particular organization, department, program or issue or may have consistently contributed to a broad range of activities. The university selected
Maddy Manger and
Greta Schimnowski from the Wildcat basketball to receive this year's award as two of the fifteen honorees.
Three student-athletes were also honored as Antonian Scholars which is part of the St. Catherine honors program which offers students with outstanding academic ability the opportunity to study and work with one another in a specially designated program of liberal arts studies. The program offers special seminars to deepen the level of learning and to provide for independent scholarship. An honors program student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and successfully complete the six requirements of the honors program. In the senior year, the student completes an independent research project of their choosing under the direction of a faculty member to earn the designation of Antonian Scholar. Raechel Painovich - Play it Forward: A qualitative Exploration of Physical Activitiy Programs for Preadolescent Girls - Antonian Honors Senior Project Award Winner

J Dombroski was also named one of eleven College for Women Valedictorians for the class of 2025 and senior volleyball student-athlete
Lexie Petrick was one of two College for Women Salutatorians for the class of 2025.
