LAKE CITY, Minn. -- The No. 35 ranked St. Catherine University golf team closed out a remarkable spring season on Sunday finishing as the runner up in the Carleton/St. Kate's Final Fling at Hastings Golf Club and The Jewel after leading in round one with a team score of 310 (+18). St. Kate's shaved three strokes in round two shooting 307 for a two-day round of 617 behind Carleton with a team score of 601.
After round one, first-year
Raquel Ahrens tallied a two-over par 75 followed by
Caylin Cantwell's first-round 77 (+4).
Emma Dobbins finished the first round at Hastings Golf Club with a 78 (+5) and fellow rookie,
Arivia DeBoer followed shooting 80 (+7). Senior
Lolla Magrann posted a first-round score of 81 (+8) one stroke ahead of
Sydney Dodds with a round of 82 (+9).
Kali Hanson closed out the day for St. Kate's shooting 92 (+19).
In the second round, hosted at The Jewel in Lake City, Minnesota, Cantwell paced the team with a one under par 72 with four birdies and finishing the day with an eagle to move her into second place, tied with Carter Sichol of Carleton.
Ahrens concluded the day carding three birdies for a three over par 76 to finish tied for sixth individually. DeBoer shaved two strokes from her first round with a 78 (+5) in tied for eighth place and Magrann repeated her round of 81 (+8) tied for 13th.
Dobbins dropped into 17th place shooting 85 (+12) while Hanson improved by ten strokes on Sunday with a round of 82 (+9) in 27th place. Dodds closed out the day with a round of 88 (+15) to place 23rd overall.
