After trading momentum swings and grinding through a defensive match for three periods, St. Kate's seized control of the face off in their defensive zone won by
Ana Myers. Myers carried the puck down the ice into the Cardinals zone getting a shot off with Gillespie putting away the rebound for the game-winner.
The finished capped an outstanding performance from sophomore goalie
Addie Oettinger making 34 saves in the game. She also weathered three Cardinal power plays including one in the final minute of regulation. The shutout marks her second of the season and third win.
St. Kate's will take a break for the Thanksgiving holiday and return to competition against St. Olaf College on Thursday, December 4 in Northfield. The return to Drake Arena on Friday, December 5 for game two of the conference series.
