WATERLOO, Iowa -- The St. Catherine University golf team finished first in the Upper Iowa Spring Invite at Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo, Iowa with all five golfers in the top-six led by sophomore
Kyra Venne. The team shot a season-best 307 (+19) for a 36-hole score of 618, 57 strokes ahead of the next team, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Venne moved into the top spot on day two shooting 74 (+2) for a two day total of 150 (+6). Just behind Venne was junior
Jaycee Rhodes with a 36-hole total of 154 (+8) shooting 82 (+10) on Saturday.
Fifth-year
Sydney Brandt moved up two spots in the individual leaderboard carding a 76 (+4) shaving seven strokes off her first round to tie with teammate
Emma Almquist in fourth place. Almquist had a career day tallying her first round in the 70's, shooting 77 in the second round.
Sophomore
Morgan Anderson also improved from day one shaving one stroke off to finish tied for sixth overall with a two day total of 161 (+17).
Next up for the Wildcats is the Illinois Wesleyan University Kathy Niepagan Invite in Normal, Illinois April 15 and 16th.
