LAKE ELMO, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University golf team finished the first round of the MIAC Women's Golf Championships with a tournament best round of 307 (+19) led by first-year
Grace Petzold. The Wildcats hold a 13 stroke advantage over the second place Bethel University Royals with all five the golfers in the top-20.
Petzold is tied for second overall with Carter Sichol from Carleton College shooting 75 (+3) just one stroke out of the top spot. Behind Petzold is junior
Paige Hillman who is in fourth individually shooting 76 (+4). Last year's MIAC individual champion,
Kyra Venne finished the back nine one under to finish tied for seventh with a 78 (+6).
Senior
Jaycee Rhodes carded a team-best three birdies in the first 18-holes to finish tied with Venne in seventh and junior
Morgan Anderson shot 82 (+10) to finish tied in 18th overall.
Anderson is off the tee first on Sunday for St. Kate's at 12:18 pm. Rhodes tee's off at 12:27 pm followed by Venne at 12:36 pm, Hillman at 12:45 pm and Petzold rounds out the team teeing off at 12:54 pm.
