SANDESTIN, Fla. -- The No. 8 ranked St. Catherine University golf team is tied for 8th place after the first round of the Golfweek October Challenege in Sandestin, Florida at Baytowne Golf Club. The Wildcats recorded a team score of 309 led by junior Kyra Venne. 

Venne finished the first round tied for fifth individually shooting 73 (+1). Senior Jaycee Rhodes carded a round of 77 (+5) with a team best three birdies. 

Junior Paige Hillman shot 79 (+7) after the first round with two birdies and shooting one over par on the back nine. Rookie Grace Petzold was one stroke behind shooting 80 (+8) and junior Morgan Anderson tallied an 81 (+9) on Sunday. 

The Wildcats are set to tee off at noon on Monday with Anderson off first followed by Petzold, Hillman, Rhodes and then Venne.
