SARTELL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University golf team finished their first tournament of the season as the runner-up to Carleton College in the College of Saint Benedict Fall Invite. The 36-hole event was hosted at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course in Sartell, Minnestoa where the Wildcats second team finished in fourth place. The first team shaved eight strokes from their first round score led by junior
Jaycee Rhodes while team two added three stroke and was led by junior
Katie Reeves.
Rhodes improved by two from her first round carding a 76 (+4) on Sunday for a 36-hole score of 154 (+10), good for fourth place. Reeves was just one stroke behind Rhodes shooting 78 (+6) in the second round to come in fifth place overall.
Making the first team was sophomore
Kyra Venne who shaved five stroke from her first round to shoot 76 (+4) along with Rhodes and finish sixth.
Sydney Brandt was, who shot 81 (+9) to finish tied for 7th and
Morgan Anderson shooting 79 (+7) improving by three from day one.
Jessica Loera made up the balance of the first team, also improving by three stroke on day two to shoot 80 (+8) and finish tied for 18th.
Senior
Dasha Parker, who played on the second team, had an identical weekend to Loera to finish tied in 18th and card a two-day score of 163 (+19). First-years
Emma Almquist and
Lolla Magrann made up the rest of team two shooting 83 (+11) and 87 (+15), respectively and individual
Emmie Verhaagh finished her first tournament shooting 190 after 36-holes.
