Gustavus too much for Wildcats in 7-0 loss

The Gusties came out and established why they are the #4 ranked team in the country early in Friday night's game at the Burnsville Ice Arena, scoring three goals in the first period.  Gustavus outshot St. Kate's 13-2 in the first period and controlled the puck much of the first twenty minutes.

St. Kate's would play a solid second period, getting their offense going and moving the puck well. Evening up the shots on goal (10-11 Gustavus) and had a couple scoring chances scattered throughout the period.  Gustavus would squeak one goal past Samantha Geissler with just five seconds remaining, to and the second up 4-0.

The third period was very similar to the first, Gustavus found a way to score three more in the period, to bring the total to 7-0 Gusties.  The two teams face off again tomorrow afternoon in St. Peter.
