St. Kate's hockey team continued their conference winning streak Friday night at Augsburg with a big 5-0 win.
Kelsey Abrahamson and
Michaela Michaelson each score a pair and
Meghan Lange added one to complete the scoring for the Wildcats.
Mel Gerten and
Erica Pitzen combine for the second shut out of the season for the Wildcats.
Coach
Brad Marshall said of the performance, "A great team effort. Everyone played their role perfectly. People we needed to score did, our defense kept Augsburg to the outside and Mel made the saves she was supposed to. As a coach, it's nice to see us start to understand that our team will succeed with everyone buying into their roles."
Michaelson added a pair of assists as well to lead all scorers. Gerten and Pitzen notched 18 saves on the night as the Wildcats out shot Augsburg 45-18.
Hockey takes the ice again Saturday afternoon against Augsburg at Ridder Arena at 2:00 p.m.
