HUDSON, Wis. — St. Catherine golf opened play at Troy Burne Golf Club with a team score of 319 on Monday, led by matching rounds of 78 from Caylin Cantwell and Elle Schweim.
 
Cantwell and Schweim finished the opening round tied for fifth individually at seven-over par on the par-71 layout. Cantwell made the turn in 40 before shaving two strokes on the back nine for a 38. Schweim was steady throughout the day, carding rounds of 39 on both sides.
 
Raquel Ahrens was next for the Wildcats, finishing tied for 17th after an opening-round 81. Ahrens made the turn at three-over with a 39 before closing with a 42. Arivia DeBoer and Sydney Dodds each posted rounds of 82 to sit tied for 22nd. DeBoer opened with a 39 before a 43 on the back nine, while Dodds bounced back from an opening 43 with a strong 39 coming in.
 
Competing as an individual, Emma Dobbins matched Ahrens with an 81 to finish the round tied for 17th. Dobbins shot 41 on the front nine and closed with a 40.
