FARIBAULT, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University golf team competed at Legacy Golf Course on Saturday for the first round of the Carleton/St. Kate's Spring Invite. Rookie
Grace Petzold leads the Wildcats in third as an individual as the team is tied for second shooting 318. The Wildcats second team is fourth with a team score of 334.
Petzold's round of 77(+5) is the second best round of the day as two others carded 75 (+3) tied for first.
Kyra Venne and
Morgan Anderson tied for eighth after the first round with an eight over par 80 as
Jaycee Rhodes and
Macey Martin were one stroke behind tied for 12th shooting 81 (+9).
Emma Almquist followed with an 82 (+10) leading the Wildcats second team ahead of
Paige Hillman shooting 83 (+11). The balance of the second team were within one stroke of each other led by
Emmie Verhaagh shooting 84 followed by
Katie Reeves at 85 and
Lolla Magrann at 86.
Sunday's round will be played at Rush Creek Golf Course in Maple Grove, Minnesota. The Wildcats are off the tee at 12:30 pm with Venne last teeing off at 2:10 pm.
