ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University track and field team opened the Minnesota portion of their outdoor season appearing at the University of St. Thomas Tomcat Invite Friday posting five PR performances.
First-year
Brittany Breed along with senior
Morgan Brandt appeared in the steeplechase with Breed finishing with a PR time of 13:04.96 in seventh place while Brandt finished tenth with a time of 14:31.49.
The relay team of
Claire Nichols,
Makayla Stinson,
Reilee Schepper and
Erin Doyle competed in the 4x100 clocking in with a time of 51.31 to finishing fourth. Senior
Megan Perkins was the lone Wildcat in the 1500 meter run finishing with a time of 5:29.55 and Doyle was the lone Wildcat in the 400-meter dash coming in 25th place with a time of 1:04.25. Perkins was also in the 800-meter run finishing with a time of 2:40.59.
Junior
Gabby Bodin was sixth in the 100-meter hurdles finishing with a time of 15.49 and sophomore
Burnices Barlue came in 19th place at 17.10.
Stinson had a day in the 100-meter dash coming in seventh place with a debut time of 12.74 ahead of rookie
Katie Yoder finishing with a time of 14.77. Stinson tied for sixth overall in the 200-meter dash with a PR time of 26.80.
Brenna Nelson and
Lily Harvey competed in the 5K finishing back to back with Nelson clocking in at 20:52.80 and Harvey just behind with a PR time of 21:45.75.
In the field, Bodin was the Wildcats' top finisher in the high jump coming in 10th with a mark of 1.48m. while Nichols was just behind at 1.43m in 13th place.
Junior
Chando Horvath tallied a PR performance in the hammer throw with a mark of 42.65m finishing sixth. She was also in the shot put throwing a mark of 9.95m ahead of teammates
Abby Althoff with a PR mark of 9.68m and
Grace Kordus at 7.35m.
Schepper posted a top-three performance in the triple jump with a mark of 10.69m while Barlue was eighth jumping 10.04m and fifth-year
Bryana Leverentz jumped 9.55m to finishing 11th. Schepper was also in the long jump coming in ninth with a mark of 4.93m and Nichols was 13th at 4.77m. Doyle jumped 4.43m, good for 22nd and Leverentz finishing 26th at 3.80m.
St. Kate's is back in action Saturday, April 15 traveling to Bethel University.
