NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The St. Catherine indoor track & field team opened the season on Saturday in Northfield at the Ole Opener.
Junior
Kaitlyn Peterson led the way on the track in the 1000 meters, finishing 16th overall with a time of 3:33.11. In the women's mile, the Wildcats placed three runners, paced by sophomore
Mist Sit, who crossed the line in 5:59.04. Junior Felicty Lamb followed in 14th at 6:36.40, while senior
Miranda Kerndt rounded out the group with a time of 6:58.70.
The distance group continued its work in the 3000 meters, where first-year
Eleanor Lindeman earned a seventh place finish in 10:48.92 and fellow rookie
Lydia Feldhahn finished with a debut time of 12:15.61.
In the field, junior
Maggie Lewandowski represented St. Kate's in both the shot put and weight throw. She recorded a mark of 9.35m in the shot put and followed it up with a standout performance in the weight throw, placing seventh with a PR toss of 12.97m.
St. Kate's will compete again on Saturday, January 24 at the annual Vanessa Seljeskog Classic hosted at Macalester College.
