Hockey falls short at Augsburg

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The St. Catherine hockey team dropped game two of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) falling 7-2 against Augsburg University on Saturday.

Augsburg carried a three-goal lead after the first period when Madison Fleming scored at 11:19 in the second. Fleming's first collegiate goal was assisted by Laura Denchfield and Veronica Gruett. The Auggies added two additional goals in the second for a 5-1 lead after two periods.

Penalties got the best of the Wildcats in the third giving up two power-play goals. Marie Reimer found the back of the net from Kaitlyn Blair just eight seconds after the Auggies final goal for her fifth goal this season.
