EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- The St. Catherine volleyball team split two matches on the second day of the Sandy Schumacher Memorial Tournament with a 3-1 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh before falling to St. Norbert College 3-1.
MATCH ONE | St. Catherine 3, UW-Oshkosh 1 (25-21, 24-26, 25-20, 27-25)
In Saturday's first match, sophomore
Maggie Rosen tallied a team-best ten kills with junior
Lauren Skar contributing nine as the Wildcats downed the Titans in four sets. Senior
Lauren Isaacson tallied a season-high 19 digs and first-year
Lexie Petrick recorded eleven. Sophomore
Georgia Tilton had four block assists along with five kills.
MATCH TWO | St. Norbert 3, St Catherine 1 (25-18, 22-25, 14-25, 15-25)
The second match of the day proved to be more of a challenge for the Wildcats taking the first set and dropping the final three to the Knights. Isaacson had a team-best five kills along with five digs. Senior
Julia Weiler collected a match-high three service aces and Petrick finished the match with eight digs.
St. Kate's opens conference play on Wednesday with a 7 pm match against Carleton College at
Butler Center.
