HASTINGS, Minn. -- After the first day of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Golf Championships hosted at Emerald Greens Golf Club, the St. Catherine golf team carries a six-stroke lead over the second-place team with a score of 305 (+17).
Sydney Brown and
Jaycee Rhodes are T2 shooting two-over par at 74 (+2). Brown and Rhodes each tallied three birdies a piece in the first round making up six of the teams nine total in the first 18-holes.Â
Dasha Parker finished T8 carding a 78 (+6) and
Jordan Amelon was just behind at 79 (+7). Parker had back-to-back birdies on holes 16 and 17 shaving two strokes from her total in the last three holes. Amelon had the team's other birdie on hole 5 and collected eight pars.Â
Kate Taylor rounded out the team shooting 81 (+9), good for a three-way tie at 21st.Â
Today's round of 305 (+17) was a team-low score at the conference championships and tied for the third-best round in program history.Â
St. Kate's will tee off on Saturday at 12:20 pm and the championship event is scheduled to conclude Sunday.Â
