ST. PAUL, Minn. - The win streak continues for St. Catherine basketball securing a 62-40 victory over Hamline at Hutton Arena on Saturday afternoon. St. Catherine has now won their past three Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) contests improving to 8-8 against conference foes and 11-10 overall. The Wildcats are holding down the No. 6 spot in the conference with four regular-season games left on the schedule. After having lost to the Pipers on January 4 at
Butler Center by a score of 57-41, the Wildcats flipped the script this time taking down Hamline by a 22-point margin.
St. Catherine was nearly perfect from the line against the Pipers going 15-17 in the game. The Wildcats were led by
Cierra Ahlf who added 12 points shooting 50 percent from the field draining both of her three-point attempts. The rookie guard had a team high-three steals with two rebounds and one assist. Just behind Ahlf was
Bree Glynn adding 11 points with six boards, one assist, and one steal.
Brooke Torvik had a season-high ten points off the bench shooting 3 for 5 and going 4 for 6 from the charity line. In her 20 minutes on the court, Torvik also tallied three rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Danica Cambrice led the team in rebounds with seven and assists with five while adding eight points and one steal.
Jackie Radford also contributed eight points against the Pipers with six rebounds and one steal.
St. Catherine will host the No. 3 team in the MIAC, Gustavus Adolphus College, on Wednesday, February 12 at 7 pm in
Butler Center. St. Catherine travels to Concordia College-Moorhead on Saturday, February 15 and will return to host the College of Saint Benedict on Wednesday, February 19 at 7 pm. St. Catherine closes out the regular season against Carleton College on Saturday, February 22 at 3 pm.
