ST. PAUL, Minn. - Senior
Danica Cambrice became the ninth player in program history to reach the 1,000 career-points mark adding 18 total points in St. Catherine's 55-53 victory of the Saint Mary's University Cardinals. The sweep of Saint Mary's advances the Wildcats' to an 8-8 overall record along with a 5-6 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). St. Catherine topped Saint Mary's on December 4, 2019 with a score of 79-77 in double overtime in Winona.
St. Catherine was off to a slow start again on Wednesday scoring just eight points in the first ten minutes of the game. On the hunt for five points to achieve 1,000, Cambrice added four in the first quarter. Sophomore

Cierra Ahlf got the Wildcats' within two with the three-ball. Junior
Kassidy Jenkins nailed both of her free-throw attempts getting the score to 14-13, Cardinals. At 4:36 remaining in the half, Cambrice drew the foul and getting her shot to clinch 1,000 career points. After missing the first attempt, Cambrice made her second shot scoring St. Catherine's 15th point of the game and becoming the Wildcats' ninth player to achieve the milestone. To close out the half, the Cardinals led the Wildcats 23-19 cutting the deficit to four.

Jackie Radford knocked down a three-point basket 18 seconds into the third quarter to get St. Catherine within just one point early with Cambrice getting St. Catherine their first lead at 24-23 at 8:20 in the period. The Cardinals rallied back going 10 for 2 over the Wildcats getting an eight-point lead at 5:19.
Down by five going into the final quarter of the game, St. Catherine inched their way back into the lead with another three-pointer from Radford at 8:08. The Wildcats earned their largest lead of the game at 5:33 with a good layup from sophomore
Mackenzie Kurczek for the 10-point advantage. St. Catherine held onto the lead for the remainder of the game adding seven more points for the 55-53 victory.
To go along with her 18-point evening, Cambrice had seven rebounds, four steals, and two assists. Radford was second on the stats line with eight points, nine boards, and three assists. Radford also had a milestone achievement in tonight's game with her 500th career rebound against the Cardinals. She is now in the No. 5 spot in the MIAC this season averaging 7.1 rebounds per game.
The Wildcats travel to the University of St. Thomas on Saturday, January 25 at 3 pm.
