ST. PAUL, MINN. – The busy season continues for the St. Catherine University soccer and volleyball teams, as both hit the road for Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) games this upcoming weekend.
First, St. Kate's volleyball tries to snap its six-match losing streak tonight with a 7 p.m. match against Crown College. Then, on Saturday, the Wildcats return to St. Paul to take on conference rival Macalester at 3 p.m. on the Scots home court at the Leonard Center.
St. Kate's soccer team only has one game on the road this weekend, but it could be one of the team's toughest tests of the season. The Wildcats take on Concordia College in a key MIAC game at 1 p.m. in Moorhead, Minnesota.

Here are the five facts to know before this weekend's big games:
241 – There are 241 miles separating St. Kate's and Concordia, making it the longest trip in the MIAC for the team. The drive from school to school is three hours and 35 minutes one way, while it's an hour long flight from the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport.
7 – In the past five years, St. Kate's volleyball has compiled a 7-0 record against Crown and have yet to drop a single set in match play.
0 – Since losing to Augsburg on September 12, the Wildcat soccer team has a 2-0-2 record against MIAC opponents. St. Kate's is also coming off its biggest conference win of the season, a 3-1 victory over Saint Mary's University. In that game alone, the Wildcats outshot the Cardinals 27-8, and 18 of those shots were on goal.
61 – It's well known that St. Kate's is one of the best serving teams in the MIAC, but the Wildcats are also one of the top blocking teams as well, especially against conference opponents. Currently, St. Kate's ranks third in block assists versus MIAC opponents (61) and is fifth in total blocks (35) versus conference opponents.
Kelly Breuer (St. Paul, Minn. / St. Croix Lutheran) is a big reason to this surge, as she currently leads the team with 47 total blocks. That number ranks fourth in the conference, while Breuer is second with 19 total blocks against MIAC opponents.
4 – St. Kate's soccer is also coming off its most decisive win of the 2017 season. The Wildcats went down to Forest Lake, Iowa and dominated in its 4-0 win over the NAIA's Waldorf University. Three different student-athletes scored in 90 minutes of play, including junior
Kaitlin Machovec (Woodbury, Minn. / North St. Paul), who scored two goals in the final minutes and now leads the team in goals (4) and points (9) this season.
