Swimming collects win against Concordia

The swimming & diving team had a lot to celebrate Saturday afternoon on their long drive back from Moorhead, as they defeated Concordia in their first dual meet of the season, 207.5 to 92.5  The Wildcats won 12 out of the 16 events, including Bridget Perkins and Steffanie Jurusik each winning three events. 

Perkins won the 100 free, 100 fly, and 50 fly, as well as swimming a leg on the winning 400 free relay.  Her time of 1:02.25 in the 100 fly broke the pool record by over half a second.  Jurusik picked up victories in the 50 back, 100 back, 200 IM and teamed with Sarah Vrudny, Kathleen VanDeVoorde, and Allison Witt to win the 200 medley relay. 

The other winning relay team, in the 400 free relay, was comprised of Vrudny, Mary Walters, Lena Anderson, and Perkins.  Vrudny also added two individual victories, winning the 200 free outright, and tying for first in the 100 breast.  Diver Sarah Moody added to her early season success, winning both of the 1 meter diving events. 

The Wildcats host their Mini Invite next Friday, November 12 at 6 PM.
