Biography
2011-2012: Sarah joins the Wildcats for her final season and as a team captain.
2010-2011: As a junior, Sarah placed 10th in the 200 IM, 6th in the 200 freestyle, and 7th in the 200 breaststroke at the 2011 MIAC meet. She was also a member of four school record-setting relays (200, 400 & 800 free and 200, 400 & 800 medley). Sarah also broke her preivious school record in the 50 freestyle. Sarah was a team captain.
2009-2010: As a sophomore, she was aslo a member of four record setting relay teams (200 free, 400 free, 200 medley, 400 medley). Sarah placed 13th in the 200 IM, 7th in the 200 free, and 9th in the 200 breaststroke at the 2010 MIAC meet. Sarah was also named to the MIAC sportsmanship award team.
2008-2009: As a first-year, Sarah set six school records (50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 200 free relay, 400 free relay, 200 medley relay), posted an NCAA B-Cut time in the 200 free and was named the team MVP.
High School: Sarah came to St. Kate’s after a successful high school swimming career in Colorado where she was named team MVP, League Swimmer of the Year, team captain and was a two-time Colorado state meet participant. She placed 12th in the 100 free during her senior year.
Personal: Sarah cites her dad (a former swimmer at the University of Minnesota and one of her coaches) as the person who has influenced her athletic career the most. Sarah is a Nursing major. She is the daughter of St. Kate’s alumna Elizabeth, and Tim Vrudny.
