ORLANDO, Fla. -- The St. Catherine University dance team is set to compete in the Dance Team Union (DTU) The College Classic Saturday and Sunday in Orlando, Florida. 

The Wildcat dancers started their historic season at the DX AmeriCup Championship taking home the program's first ever jazz title with top marks against jazz teams from Division I and Division II. The team also earned a judges choice award for Xtreme Emotion and Projection in their performance. At that championship, the team finished College Grand Championship finishing 9th among nearly 150 college and all-star performances. 

The team then competed in the DTU Virtual Championship, where they ranked 5th in Division III Jazz and took home the programs highest finals score with a total of 85.87. 

On Saturday, the team will appear in the preliminary trials at 8:21 am CT before competing again in the semifinals Saturday evening. After the preliminary round, the scores start over going into semifinals. From there the top 9 teams from Saturday evening advance to compete Sunday with scores again not carrying over to the next round.
