Dancers place second and third at DX Regional Competition

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University dance team returned to the DX Regional Championships on Sunday appearing in the hip hop and jazz divisions at the Minneapolis Hilton. Overall, the Wildcat dancers finished third in the jazz competition while placing second in hip hop. 

The first performance was the Wildcats' Enough routine where the team placed second overall. Ahead of the Wildcats in hop hip was Iowa Lakes Community College in first while the Upper Iowa Peacocks finished in third. 

Performing their jazz routine for the first time in public, the Wildcats placed third for their routine Bad. The routine was choreographed by Bayleigh Peters and placed St. Kate's behind Winona State University in first and St. Norberts College in second. The final performer in the division was Wisconsin-Stout who finished behind the Wildcats in fourth. St. Kate's also received a judges aware for their use staging. 

St. Catherine will perform again on Saturday, February 8 for their nationals send off and senior day during halftime of the Wildcat basketball game scheduled at 1 pm. After that, the team will travel to Anaheim, California for the USA Collegiate National Championship, February 15 and 16.
