NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- St. Catherine University indoor track & field had a day with six overall PR's and two top ten finishes.
In the 800 meters, junior Kaitlyn Peterson led the way with a second-place PR finish, crossing in 2:31.35. Sophomore Mist Sit also competed in the 800, finishing sixth with a PR time of 2:36.89. Sit returned later in the meet to take on the mile, placing 14th overall in 5:45.79, setting a new PR with a 13 second improvement.
The Wildcats showed depth in the 3000 meters, highlighted by first-year Eleanor Lindeman's seventh-place finish with a PR time of 10:38.92. Fellow rookie Lydia Feldhahn posted a PR 11:13.19, which is 42 seconds faster than her last time out, while senior Miranda Kerndt clocked a season best 13:38.50 performance.
In the field events, rookie Kristin Siebsen cleared 1.28 meters (4-02.25) in the high jump, placing 12th, and also competed in the triple jump. First-year Lillian Sembello represented the Wildcats in the long jump, recording a mark of 3.72 meters (12-02.50).
The throwing squad delivered solid efforts as well. Junior Maggie Lewandowski led the way in the shot put with a mark of 9.85 meters (32-03.75) and added a 10.81-meter (35-05.75) throw in the weight throw. First-year Alehsha Rentz contributed in both events, throwing a PR of 9.36 meters (30-08.50) in the shot put and 8.45 meters (27-08.75) in the weight throw.
St. Kate's returns to Northfield again next weekend at St. Olaf for the Tostrud Classic on Friday, February 20.
