ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University hockey team fell to the Hamline University Pipers on Saturday afternoon at Drake Arena. The 6-0 game gave the Pipers the MIAC sweep to put the Wildcats at 3-13 in the conference with an overall record of 5-17-1.
It was a one goal game after the first period as the Pipers out shot the Wildcats 12-5. St. Kate's was challenged again in the second period only firing off two shots on net as the Pipers scored three goals to go up 4-0 with 20 to play.
Momentum switched in the third period with St. Kate's dominating and out shooting the Pipers 9 to 6. Hamline scored their fifth goal half way into the third period and added an unassisted short handed empty netter to close out the game.
The Wildcats have two games remaining on the schedule as they travel to Duluth to face the College of St. Scholastica on Friday before returning to St. Paul Saturday for Senior Day against the Saints.
