OSHKOSH, Wis. -- The St. Catherine Univeristy volleyball team went 2-0 on the first day of the UW-Oshkosh Tournament downing Lakeland and North Central. The pair of wins puts the Wildcats at 6-1 on the season on a six match win streak.
MATCH ONE | St. Catherine 3, Lakeland 2
Lexie Petrick and
Addison Preuss both recorded double doubles in the Wildcats five set match as
Eleanor Erickson led the team with 12 kills hitting .265.
Brenna Essig led defensively with 28 digs with Petrick grabbing 23 digs to her 10 kills. Preuss recorded a season-best 23 assists with 13 digs and
Emily Bredman had five blocks, including two solos.
MATCH TWO | St. Catherine 3, North Central 0
St. Catherine dominated North Central in the opening set with a 25-4 set, the largest margin of defeat for the Wildcats in program history. St. Kate's went on to win the next two sets 25-21 led by
Mallory Johnson with ten kills and a hitting percentage of .667.
Liz Rosen recorded five aces in the match to her 12 digs while Petrick and Essig each posted 15 digs.
St. Kate's will face Aurora University and UW-Stevens Point on Saturday with matches scheduled for 11 am and 1 pm.
