MORRIS, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University soccer team picked up their third shutout of the season with a 5-0 non-conference victory over the University of Minnesota-Morris. The Wildcats are now 3-1 on the season.
St. Kate's dominated the shot count on Saturday with 16 shots on goal to the Cougars one.
Amanda Elton scored her first goal of the season in the 48th minute assisted by
Ari Green and
Kallie Tuominen. She found the back of the net three minutes later with help from senior
Ari Green and sophomore
Briana Henaman. Green went on to score her third of the seas at 57:16 from Elton and Tuominen putting the Wildcats up 3-0 in under ten minutes.
Tuominen added the Wildcats fourth goal and her first of the season in the 66th minute with the assist awarded to rookie
Kylee Newes for her first collegiate point.
Isa Solorzano-Cruz sealed the game with one final goal in the 80th minute for her first career goal assisted by
Kendra Lingman.
St. Kate's travels to Winona, Minnesota on Wednesday, September 13 to open the MIAC season at Saint Mary's. The team returns home Saturday, September 16 hosting St. Olaf before hosting the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Sunday.
