WINONA, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University soccer team opened conference play on Wednesday earning a 2-0 win at Saint Mary's. St. Kate's is now 4-1 overall securing their fourth shutout of the season.
Senior forward,
Ari Green added the first goal in the 19th minute assisted by
Amanda Elton. Elton was responsible for the team's second goal eleven minutes into the second half of play. The goal was assisted by junior
Maren Schoeberl recording her first collegiate point.
Sophomore
Briana Henaman led the shot count against the Cardinals firing off six shots with three on net. Green followed with three with two on goal while Elton and
Haley Glass each had two with one on net.
Senior goalkeeper
Kate Praetz secured her fourth shutout of the season and 21st of her career making four saves in the game.
St. Kate's will host a weekend doubleheader with St. Olaf College on Saturday, September 16 at 1 pm and University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Sunday, September 17 at 1 pm.
