MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University volleyball team battled to a 3-1 win over Concordia College on Friday evening in Moorhead. The win advances St. Kate's to 3-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) now tied with the Concordia College Cobbers for third.
Sophomore
Tiffany Tellez tallied her fifth double-double of the season with a team best 12 kills plus 16 digs hitting .206. Senior
Maggie Rosen added eleven kills, four blocks and two digs scoring 13 points. Junior
Lexie Petrick had 16 digs with six kills and five blocks as
Madison Fagan also added six kills with an outstanding eight blocks against the Cobbers.
After falling in the first set 25-22, the Wildcats turned set two around dominating the Cobbers to a 25-13 performance. In the second set, Tellez, Rosen and Fagan each had three kills holding the Cobbers to a .086 hitting percentage while leading the entire set. St. Kate's held the momentum in the next two sets claiming the third 25-20 before rallying to a 25-22 win for the conference victory.
Up next for St. Catherine is Macalester College on Saturday, October 7 at Butler Center. The two conference foes are scheduled for 5 pm.
