2024: Essig appeared in and started all 29 matches for St. Kate's in the libero position. As a senior, she recorded a team best 489 digs with 87 assists and 34 aces and one kill. 

2023: Essig appeared in 26 matches playing in 95 sets as a junior. Essig recorded 31 aces with 118 digs and four assists. She earned the St. Kate's Strength and Conditioning Volleyball Athlete of the Year.

2022: Appeared in 22 matches as a sophomore playing in 79 sets. Essig tallied 26 aces with 102 digs and four kills. 

2021: Appeared in nine matches with two kills, eight aces, and 37 digs. 

High School:  At Triton, Essig earned all-conference honors and was an all-area honorable mention selection in volleyball. She was also a Triple A recipient, a member of student council, SADD, Honor Society and was the 2021 class Valedictorian . 

Personal: Daughter of James and Laurie Essig. Exercise and Sport Science major and coaching minor. She is a member of the Nutrition Exercise and Sports Science Club, the Exercise is Medicine Club and Special Olympics Club.

Why did you choose St. Catherine?: I chose St. Kate’s for the small community, competitive athletics, and great exercise science program.

What do you enjoy most about being a student-athlete at St. Kate's?: I love the community of athletes and how we get to support each other in what we all love!
