PELLA, Iowa -- The St. Catherine University soccer team made the best out of their second road trip to Iowa this week with a 4-1 victory over the Central College Dutch to improve to 3-1 this season.
Fifth-year
Lauren Witte struck first with her second goal of the season in just the fifth minute of play. Her goal was assisted by senior
Emily Hinze, for her first point of the season.
Sophomore forward
Sydney Nelson also scored her second goal this year with help from Witte at 27:43 with the game-winner. Central added their lone goal of the contest five minutes later before rookie
Briana Henaman scored her first collegiate goal. Henaman's goal at 35:12 in the first half was assisted by first-year
Natalie Pfleger.
Henaman added the fourth and final goal of the game off a pass from sophomore
Caitlyn Bartlett at 43:17.
St. Kate's had nine shots on goal in the game led by Nelson, Henaman and senior
Amanda Elton.
Junior
Kate Praetz played over 72 minutes before senior
Molly Rudolph entered the game. Praetz made two saves in the game allowing one goal while Rudolph made one save.
