ST. PAUL, Minn. -- In a rematch of the 2021 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Playoff Championship game, the St. Catherine University soccer team defeated the visiting College of Saint Benedict Bennies 2-1 to open the conference season. St. Kate's improves to 4-1 with the win with an MIAC record of 1-0.

Ari Green opened scoring for the Wildcats at 12:44 into the first half. Her third goal of the season was assisted by fifth-year
Lauren Witte.
Witte went on to score the Wildcats second goal of the contest adding the point at 73:21 in the second half. The insurance goal was assisted by fifth-year
Sofia Campbell.
With less than five minutes to play, the Bennies scored their lone goal of the game to break the shutout.
The Wildcats are home again on Saturday hosting non-conference foe Loras College at 2 pm.
