Flugstad returns to St. Kate's joining Wildcat softball staff

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Former softball standout, Krista Flugstad has returned to St. Catherine University joining the Wildcat softball staff as an assistant coach working primarily with the team's pitchers, head coach Colleen Powers announced.

"We are so excited to add Krista to the staff," said Powers. "She is impeccable with details, and has the kind of first hand experience in the circle that will keep our pitchers competing in the MIAC conference and beyond"

Flugstad returns to St. Kate's after graduating in spring of 2018 with a bachelor of science degree in Biology. In her time away from St. Kate's, Flugstad coached for the Clutch Hitters out of Bloomington, MN. During her career at St. Kate's Flugstad was a decorated pitcher, receiving All MIAC Honors all four years and MIAC Rookie of the Year. Flugstad remains at the top of the Wildcat record book in a multitude of categories including: Games Pitched (121), Innings Pitched (665.0), Wins (77), KO's (559), and ERA (1.78).

She also holds multiple other single season titles in the St. Kate's Softball record book. In 2017, Flugstad lead the Wildcats to their first-ever MIAC playoff title and NCAA Championship Series. In the same year, she received MVP of the MIAC Postseason Tournament, Most Outstanding Pitcher of the St. Paul Super Regional, First-Team All Region, and Second-Team All-America.
