ST. PETER, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University soccer team defeated the Gustavus Adolphus Golden Gusties on Saturday afternoon claiming their first conference shutout of the season. With the win, St. Kate's is now 5-3-2 on the season with an MIAC record of 2-1-1.
Junior
Mallory Johnson scored her first goal of the season finding the back of the net off a pass through traffic from junior
Ari Green in the 32nd minute. Less than five minutes later, senior Amandy Elton recorded her sixth of the season with help from
Sydney Nelson.
Fifth-year
Lauren Witte added the Wildcats third goal in the 70th minute again with help from Green for the win.
Junior goalkeeper,
Kate Praetz picked up her second shutout of the season making nine saves.
St. Kate's is back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Bethel University for a 4 pm conference game.
