ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine volleyball team completed a comeback to defeat the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets in five sets on Saturday evening at
Butler Center. St. Kate's claimed the first set 25-13 before falling in the second and third sets. The purple and gold rallied back in set four 25-14 and secured the win in set five 15-7.
St. Kate's was led by
Lauren Isaacson with a double-double tallying 15 digs and 13 kills plus a career-best five aces. Senior middle hitter,
Bryana Leverentz was just behind with eleven kills and five blocks while first-year
Lexie Petrick recorded a career-best 23 digs along with nine kills.
The Wildcats dominated the first set running away with it early to hold the 'Jackets to just 13 points. UW-Superior took the second and third sets by just two and four points, respectively.
The fourth set mirrored the first as St. Kate's paced the play and held the Yellowjackets to just 14 points. Going into the fifth and final set, St. Kate's continued the momentum built in the fourth running away with it 15-7.
The Wildcats travel to Concordia College on Friday, October 1st with a 7 pm match before returning to
Butler Center for a 7 pm match on Saturday, October 2nd against Saint Mary's.
