ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University track and field team finished the first day of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hamline University.
Junior
Lauren Isaacson finished shot put with a PR mark of 12.29m and is now No. 6 all-time in program history. First-year
Chando Horvath finished the event in 14th place with a mark of 10.66m.
Elsie Lundquist finished the long jump in third place with a mark of 5.13m while
Reilee Schepper finished in eighth place with a PR mark of 5.05m, good for the No. 6 mark in program history.
Bryana Leverentz claimed second place in the javelin throw with a mark of 39.16 to earn All-Conference honors for the first time in her career.
In the 800 meter dash ,
Juliette Martin finished in 12th place with a PR mark of 2:24.58. In the 1500 meter run,
Julia Clark finished with a time of 5:07.04 to place 14th ahead of Tori Barkosky in 20th at 5:15.45 and
Austyn Kimbrell with a time of 5:18.58 in 21st.
Claire Nichols finished the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.41 in 17th place and
Gabby Bodin finished the 100 meter hurdles with a PR time of 15.63. Bodin's time now ranks her No. 5 all-time in St. Kate's history.
The Wildcats return to competition on Saturday for day two of the MIAC Championships. Events start at 12 pm with Horvath in the hammer throw.
