NORTHFIELD, Minn. --
Elsie Lundquist and
Lauren Isaacson led St. Catherine track & field at the St. Olaf College Meet of the Saints event on Friday afternoon securing three first place finishes. Lundqust claimed the title in both the high jump and long jump while Isaacson was first in the discus throw.
In the high jump, Lundquist finished first with a jump of 1.51m while also taking medalist honors in the long jump with a mark of 5.16m. Lundquist took home the third best finish in the triple jump at 10.67m. Also appearing in the long jump was sophomoreÂ
Claire Nichols who came in ninth with a PR mark of 4.53m and
Maclairen Strong coming in eleventh for 3.76m.Â
Isaacson highlighted the discus throw with a season-best mark of 41.47m claiming first place while teammate
Chando Horvath finished in fourth overall throwing 34.84m. Isaacson and Horvath were each in the shot put bringing home fourth and eighth, respectively. Isaacson threw a mark of 10.96 m and Horvath threw 10.20 m.
Lydia Wehrspann had an evelenth-best showing in the shot put with a mark of 8.50 m and
Kennedy Johnson came in 12th at 7.94m.Â
Rounding out the field events at St. Olaf were Horvath and Wehrspann with record performances in the hammer throw. Horvath threw a PR mark of 33.92m finishing fourth overall and Wehrspann threw a personal best 29.11m for sixth place.Â
Junior
Bryana Leverentz competed in the highly competitive Drake Relays as the only javelin thrower from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). Leverentz finished seventh overall with a mark of 36.56m.Â
In the track events, senior
Julia Clark secured a PR finish in the 5K shaving 12 seconds from her previous best coming in at 19:16.76, good for second place. Sophomore
Katie Nelson finished the event in seventh at 23.55.22.Â
St. Kate's entered two teams in the 4 x 400 meter relay with the group
Lizzy Erlandson,
Juliette Martin, Tori Barkosky, and
Emma Meyer finishing in fourth with a time of 4:35.39, the teams best time of the season.  In sixth overall was
Rebeka Daniel,
Brenna Nelson,
Austyn Kimbrell, and Clark at 5:01.89. B. Nelson also made her debut in the 3K steeplechase with a seventh best time of 14:44.91.Â
Martin and Erlandson finished fifth and tenth overall in the 800 meter run with Martin coming in at 2:29.60 and Erlandson with a PR time of 2:40.91.Â
Nichols finished fifth overall in the 100 meter dash with a finals time of 13.81, running a personal best time of 13.63 time in the preliminary trials. Rookie
Nicole Gillespie made her debut in the 400 meter dash coming in eleventh with a time of 1:17.63.Â
Barkosky had a PR finish in the 1500 meter run finishing fourth with a time of 5:11.37 ahead of Kimbrell in tenth debuting at 5:26.29. Meyer finished 17th with a time of 5:57.74 and Daniel came in 18th with a debut time of 5:58.53.Â
First-year
Gabby Bodin completed four of the seven events in the heptathlon finishing the first day in second place with a score of 2171. She finished first in the 100 meter hurdles with a PR time of 16.10 and recorded the top mark in the high jump with a mark of 1.48m. Bodin tallied a shot put mark of 6.76m and clocked in at 29.06 in the 200 meter dash. Bodin will complete the final three events on Saturday.Â
