ST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Catherine University track & field program closed out the Macalester College Hamster Invitational with two titles and ten PR's on Friday evening. St. Catherine finished in sixth place overall with a team score of 67.
The Wildcats picked up top-10 finishes from
Juliette Martin (third in the 600-meter, PR),
Victoria Barkosky (fifth in the 1000-meter),
Alysha Grebner (eighth in shot put),
Allison Thomas (eighth in weight throw), and
Julia Clark (eighth in 3K, PR). Barkosky,
Anya Swanson,
Riley McMahon, and Martin finished fourth in the 4x400 relay finishes ahead of
Claire LaVigne,
Emma Meyer,
Austyn Kimbrell, and
Megan Perkins in sixth.
McMahon added a runner-up showing in the Mile with a time of 5:21.73 while Swanson finished seventeenth with a time of 5:39.38. Clark's 3K finish was a PR time by 6 seconds and the second-best finish among college runners. Her teammate
Morgan Brandt finished seventeenth with a PR time of 11:43.33.
Elsie Lundquist and
Claire Nichols claimed titles in the high jump and long jump events, respectively. Lundquist finished in the high jump mark of 1.63m while Nichols' PR mark of 4.99m in the long jump placed her in the No. 9 spot in program history.
Reilee Schepper finished the long jump in fourth with a mark of 4.84m and
Bryana Leverentz finished with a PR mark of 4.20m. Schepper and Leverentz also appeared in the triple jump event both placing in the top-10. Schepper's mark of 10.27m was good for fourth place, while Leverentz's PR mark of 9.70m lands her in the No. 9 spot on the program leaderboard.
Closing out the list of PR finishes was Meyer in the 800-meter with a time of 2:49.57 and
Summer Schwintek in the 400-meter with a time of 1:27.45. Perkins and Schwintek also claimed PR finishes in the 200-meter finals. Perkins PR time of 1:11.01 was good for thirteenth and Schwintek finished in seventeenth at 1:27.45.
St. Catherine travels to Northfield on Saturday, February 25 for the Meet of Hearts hosted by Carleton College.
