ST. PAUL, Minn. - In his second full season at the helm, head basketball coach,
Don Mulhern concluded the 2018-19 year celebrating the accomplishments Sunday. The St. Catherine University basketball team finished the season 11-14 and 8-10 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). To add to that, the Wildcats were 7-3 at home this season with losses to only the top three teams in the conference.

Trent Davis, recognized the team with a variety of awards from the season. Senior
Audra Clark highlighted the event recognized for her record-setting final season with the program. Clark finished the season as the All-Time Career Points Leader with 1,483 and the All-Time Career Assists Leader at 379. She also ranks third in program history for All-Time Career Steals with 199 overall and fifteenth in for most points in a single season with 355, this season. To conclude her astounding career, Clark was named MIAC Athlete of the Week on Feb. 18, 2019 and earned three Fleur-de-lis Awards this season. She also was one of two Wildcats' to earn MIAC All-Conference recognition for the second time in her career, along with teammate junior
Danica Cambrice.
For the second year in a row, Cambrice was named to the MIAC All-Conference team. The junior captain also has an impressive season earning MIAC Athlete of the Week honors on Dec. 10, 2018 after back to back 25 point games against Saint Benedict and St. Olaf, respectively. Following that performance, Cambrice was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week, a Fleur-de-lis Award and joins Clark on the list for most points in a single season with 326 this season, good for 22nd in program history.
First-year
Sam Orth had a remarkable rookie season etching her name in program history in her debut year. Orth is No. 5 in the record books for Field Goal Percentage at 53.8% going 100-186 this year. In the company of Clark and Cambrice from their debut seasons, Orth was named to the MIAC All First-Year Team. She also earned her first-ever Fleur-de-lis Award on Dec. 5, 2018, following her 25-point and 11 rebounds performance.
Wrapping up the conference awards for the 2018-19 season was junior captain
Emma Nelson named to the MIAC All-Sportsmanship Team which recognized individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the court. Nelson who is also a volleyball student-athlete, earned her first-ever Fleur-de-lis award this season for her commitment to the program and leadership qualities.
Newcomer
Katie Benjamin was the final Wildcat earning a Fleur-de-lis Award on the team this season. Benjamin earned the award after tallying a pair of 17 point games against conference foes, Concordia College and Gustavus Adolphus.
Introduced this year, Mulhern, Kjar and Davis, recognized several student-athletes for team awards at the end of the season banquet. Orth earned the 2018-19 season Rookie of the Year Award. Orth was third behind Cambrice and Clark in PPG with 249 this year.
Cambrice and Clark were named CO- MVP for the 2018-19 season as both had record-setting seasons and ranking in the first and second rankings statistically all season.
The season Most Improved Award was given to first-year
Katie Benjamin. The forward played a vital role off the bench in the second half of the season almost doubling her average playing time plus finishing the season fifth in points with 149 after only scoring 51 before January.
The coaches honored Nelson with the Selfless Teammate Award for her dedication to the program and her unwavering support. She has the ability to support her teammates to constantly get better.
The final team award of this season was given to junior captain
Jackie Radford recognized with the Coaches Award. Radford earned the award for her leadership off the court this season. Radford was honored for providing support to her teammates and coaches in countless ways and for her dedication to the program and university.
The Wildcat basketball coaching staff also recognized Fred and Linda Stephens are the annual banquet for their allegiance to the program. Fred attended every practice this season helping the coaching staff by running the clock and assisting with drills. The Stephens Family could also be found in the stands at every home game and several of the away games cheering the team on.
St. Catherine will return the majority of the roster next season as Clark was the lone Wildcat graduating this season.
