ST. PAUL, Minn. -- A total of 24 St. Catherine University student-athletes were inducted into National College Athlete Honor Society as the Minnesota Delta Chapter ofChi Alpha Sigma on Sunday, May 3 in the athletic departments fifth induction ceremony.
St. Catherine's 24 inductees represented ten of the college's 14 varsity-sport programs and raised St. Catherine's total of 189 inductees in the five years since forming its chapter in 2021. Established in 1996, Chi Alpha Sigma is a non-profit organization that recognizes college student-athletes who excel both on and off the field of competition and is the first and only academic fraternity that specifically honors four-year collegiate student-athletes for their athletic and academic successes.
In order to be recognized for this achievement, student-athletes must participate in a sport at the varsity intercollegiate level and must maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 through four full-time semesters or six full-time quarters of college coursework.
The 2025-26 Chapter President, Taylor Takeuchi commented, "Being president means representing and being part of an incredible legacy of St. Kate's student-athletes, who excel in the classroom as well as the field. Athletes who will become leaders and change makers in the world. After graduation, I hope to become a pediatric nurse and eventually look to become an advanced practice provider!" At the annual induction ceremony, Takeuchi welcomed softball student-athlete Mayci Larson as the 2026-27 Chapter President.
