Despite having to rally back late in the second half, the Wildcats were off to a great start in the first quarter of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) game. Having swept St. Olaf last season, St. Catherine returned to the court to attempt three-straight wins over the Oles. St. Catherine had an eight-point lead. The Wildcats were 100 percent from the line in the first 10 minutes making 4 of 10 field goals and closing out the quarter leading 16-11.
