ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Wildcat volleyball team recorded its third consecutive win on Saturday afternoon defeating Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) foe, the Saint Mary's University Cardinals 3-1 on senior day. St. Catherine is now 14-9 and 4-5 against conference opponents.
St. Catherine sailed past the Cardinals in the first set winning 25-17. Saint Mary's rebounded in the second set taking the Wildcats 25-13. The final two sets went in favor of St. Kate's battling to set scores of 25-23 and 25-21.

Lindsey Markel, and
Emma Nelson were honored before the match highlighting their contributions to the program Prior to tonight's match, these three have played in a combined 661 sets and 207 matches and have accumulated 1,725 digs, 163 service aces, 618 kills, and 584 assists in four years making them one of the most successful senior classes in school history.
Head coach
Todd Nelson finished the day stating," What a great way for our team to conclude our home schedule and honor our seniors! I thought we played very well defensively. It started with a strong serving effort. We were then better able to set up our block and finished with 12 for the match. Our back row kept us in-system throughout the match. I am very proud of how the team responded to every challenge today!"
On Coach Nelson's third senior day as the head coach, his seniors added 32 digs, eight kills, three aces, and three blocks. Markel added two of the blocks as Kisch added seven digs and one service ace. Nelson contributed 25 digs, eight kills, and two aces.
Junior
Erin Cutts had a season-high seven blocks against the Cardinals adding a team-best twelve kills and three aces.
Erin Tebben was a standout athlete on the court on Saturday afternoon posting eleven kills and four blocks.
Sophomore
Grace Amacher had her second straight 30+ digs match adding 30 against Saint Mary's. Amacher moved up the conference rankings into the No. 6 spot Saturday improving her overall total to 395 digs.
The Wildcats have two remaining MIAC matches this season facing Augsburg University on Wednesday, October 30 at 7 pm and Bethel University on Saturday, November 2 and 6 pm. Both remaining matches are on the road.
