MORRIS, Minn. - Senior guard
Audra Clark led St. Catherine to the final Wildcat competition of 2018 with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in the 55-50 win. Clark earned her 303rd career assist in the game against the University of Minnesota Morris Cougars. St. Kate's finishes out the 2018 calendar 5-6 overall and 2-2 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC).
The Wildcats outscored the Cougars in the half leading 21-18. Morris put the pressure on coming out of the half taking a six point lead with 36 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
St. Catherine battled back in the fourth quarter as senior guard
Audra Clark earned the game winner from the free throw line at 7:05 taking the 1 point lead at 40-39. Less than a minute later, Clark earned her 303rd career assist, setting a program record on first-year forward
Katie Benjamin's good layup. Clark tops the program record of 302 career assists set by Erin Petrich in 2004-07.
Clark remained the star throughout game getting the Wildcats their largest lead of the game at 8 with just 9 seconds remaining. Aside from Clark's outstanding performance, Benjamin posted 10 points in just 13 minutes on the court and junior guard
Danica Cambrice picked up 9 points and 7 rebounds.
The Wildcats will travel to Northfield, Minnesota for a MIAC matchup on January 2 at 7 pm and just north on Saturday, January 5 for a 1 pm MIAC game with Bethel.
