ST. PAUL, Minn. – After going 1-1 with the Carleton College Knights in the 2017-18 season, the St. Catherine University Wildcat basketball team opened the New Year with a 63-48, Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) win on the road over the Knights Wednesday evening. The Wildcats extend their record to 6-6 overall and 3-2 in the MIAC.
The Wildcats took advantage of the 14 turnovers in the first half scoring 12 points and leading by 11 at the half, 33-22. Coming out of the half, St. Catherine retained the double-digit lead throughout the remainder of the game.
Coming fresh off of breaking the all-time program assists records, Senior
Audra Clark added two additional assists in the win with 19 points, 7 rebounds.
The current MIAC leading scorer, junior
Danica Cambrice, led the Wildcats most of the game on Wednesday adding 18 points, 5 boards and 3 steals. Cambrice leds the MIAC with 108 points on the season averaging 21.6 points per game.
The Wildcats will face MIAC rival Bethel University on Saturday at Robertson Center Gym at 1 p.m. St. Kate's returns to
Butler Center on Wednesday, January 9 as they take on conference foe, St. Thomas at 7 p.m.
