Hockey falls to No. 10 University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire 5-1

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Catherine University Wildcat hockey team fell to non-conference opponent, No. 10 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire-1 at Drake Arena on Friday evening. At the conclusion of this evenings game, the Wildcats are 3-9-0 overall and will enter nearly a month long break before returning to play on January 8 vs. the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at home. 

First-year forward Torii Thomas picked up her second goal on the season in the Wildcat loss to the Blugolds. Thomas was assisted by senior defenseman MacKenzie Ess, her fifth assist this season with just 33 seconds remaining in the third period. 

Senior forward Morgan Tentis led St. Catherine with 4 shots just ahead of Ess and sophomore forward Emilee Anderson with two a piece. 

First-year starting goalie Elizabeth Kubicek had 11 saves allowing 3 goals before first-year Karly Schmidt played the balance of the game with 2 saves on 4 shots. 

St. Catherine returns to Drake Arena for the final non-conference game of the season against the Pointers at 7 p.m. on January 8, 2019.
