ST. PAUL, MINN. – The regular season has finally come to an end for the St. Catherine University volleyball and soccer program. Both teams are set to play the final Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) games of the regular season, and both will end their respective seasons on home turf.
The stakes could not be higher for the St. Kate's soccer team, which is playing for its third straight appearance in the MIAC playoffs. The Wildcats will host Hamline at 1 p.m. at St. Kate's Field in St. Paul, Minnesota and
live stats will be available for fans who cannot attend the game in person.
St. Kate's volleyball team will try to pull off one of its biggest wins of the season Saturday as it takes on conference rival the University of St. Thomas at 3 p.m. in the
Butler Center Gym. Like soccer, fans who can't attend the match in person can watch online via
live stats and/or
video. Score updates for both games will be made on St. Kate's official Twitter account (@stkateswildcats).
Here are the five facts to know before this big weekend:
6 – Six seniors will be honored this Saturday, as they play in the final regular season home games of their respective careers.
Jessica Perez-Adame (San Jacinto, Calif. / San Jacinto),
Samantha Boonstra (Maple Grove, Minn. / Maple Grove),
Shannon Hickey (Eden Prairie, Minn. / Visitation) and
Emily Stengel (Mankato, Minn. / Mankato) will be honored before St. Kate's soccer game, while
Bailey Auseth (Wanamingo, Minn. / Kenyon-Wanamingo) and
Emily Neumann (Duluth, Minn. / Hermantown) will be honored during the Wildcats volleyball match.
36 – The four St. Kate's soccer seniors have compiled a 36-27-7 record during their careers as Wildcats, making them one of the most successful classes in program history. They have also made two appearances in the MIAC postseason tournament and is trying for a third Saturday afternoon.
493 – Volleyball senior Neumann will graduate as one of the most successful setters in program history. Neumann current ranks 12
th in career assists, having accumulated 493 throughout her career.
2730 – Boonstra and Hickey have played a combined 2730 minutes of the Wildcats this season, the highest total of all active players on the roster. In their career, the two seniors have made a combined 68 starts and will graduate as two of the top defensive backs in St. Kate's history.
29 – Senior defensive specialist Auseth had one of the best defensive matches in program history as a sophomore in 2015. Auseth recorded a season and career-high 29 digs in St. Kate's 3-0 sweep of Crown for one of the highest single-match totals in school history.

6 – With a win or tie on Saturday, St. Kate's soccer will complete the six-team field in the MIAC playoffs. The Wildcats will be either the fifth or sixth seed in the tournament, depending on what happens around the conference on Saturday.
