Soccer falls to Carleton

The Wildcats headed into Thursday's matchup against Carleton hoping to knock off the number one team in the conference, but the Knights proved why they are tops in the MIAC, winning 5-1.  St. Kate's is now 2-8 in MIAC play, and 6-10-1 overall.  Carleton is 8-1-1 in MIAC play and 12-2-1 overall.

Carleton opened up a 2-0 lead in the first half of play on goals by Liz Arakaki and Marlena Hartman-Filson.  The Wildcats cut that lead in half at the start of the second period, as Katie Eckman capitalized on a turnover and beat the Knight's keeper.  Carleton quickly dashed any hopes of a Wildcat comeback, with three goals in ten minutes to put the game away, including two by Cassie Burke.  The game was halted with several minutes remaining after a Carleton player was injured in a collision.

The Wildcats continue to show great heart in their games, especially on the defensive end, as they withstood 24 shots from Carleton and 10 corner kicks.

The Wildcats look to end their season on a high note with a win against Bethel University on Saturday, October 30 at 1 pm.
