Samantha Larson has been named Wildcat Athlete of the Week after she set two career bests at the Wildcats first track and field meet of the season. Her throw of 11.55 meters (37'10.75) in the shot put was a personal best by nearly three feet. The mark, wihch is #4 all-time at St. Kate's, currently tops the MIAC season performance list.
Larson followed up that performance with another personal best in the 20-pound weight throw. Her mark of 12.98 meters (42'7) was a two foot personal best. It also puts her #4 on the MIAC list, and is #4 all-time at St. Kate's.
Samantha, who did not participate in track and field until her freshman year at St. Kate's, was also named MIAC Field Athlete of the Week for her efforts.
Samantha is the daughter of Allen and Janice Larson, and is an Exercise and Sport Science Major at St. Kate's.
